PERI SKYDECK – Meeting Schedule and Budget with Half the Crew
In North York, Ontario, Rhone Poulenc has recently added one laboratory building to its research complex. The new building is a 3-story concrete structure with an area of 4645 m² (50,000 ft²) per floor and a ceiling height of 5 m (14'' 5“).
PERI supplied 2,787 m² (30,000 ft²) of SKYDECK slab shoring. Because of the simple concept and the light weight of the system, the contractor, Res 2000, was able to cut their crew in half while still being able to meet the schedule. The drop-head feature of the SKYDECK system allowed for early stripping after only 2 days. This again, enabled Res 2000 to minimize the amount of panels required and efficiently cycle the formwork.
